Welcome to the Iowa Water Resources Climate Data Website. The Iowa Water Resources Climate Data Website is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to provide an ongoing summary of precipitation, streamflow, and groundwater levels in each of the nine climate districts in Iowa. This summary is designed to provide a monthly quick picture of hydrologic conditions in each of the nine climate districts in Iowa and to allow comparisons between the various districts.

Precipitation for each climate district is a monthly average for each of the climate districts. Streamflow is shown for a watershed within the climate district selected to represent the conditions in that district. Groundwater levels are provided by shallow monitoring wells centrally located within each climate district.
